A service shop full of nothing but E-Types and a parts department to build an entire new E-Type: XKs Unlimited has it all.
As a precursor to our Monterey Car Week, we headed down to San Luis Obisbo to XKs Unlimited. This is the same company that has saved our bacon in a pinch and provided the many specific parts E-Type parts on request. Pete in ordering knows every E-Type part number off the top of his head.
The facility itself is setup into two distinct operations, that being service and parts. XKs does full service and restoration work, leaving only the paint work outsourced. The parts take up a bulk of the space and are ordered in a small showroom. This time around we spotted the E-Type racecar owned by XKs Unlimited president Jason Len.

In this building is nothing but Jaguar Parts.

Today the annual English Car Affair in the Park at the Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Park, Colwood, BC was held by the The Old English Car Club OECC.
Centered in field was a great display of MGAs surrounded by many of the great cars from the local area.
Interesting debuts included Malcom Mackenzie’s freshly restored Triumph GT6 and Paul Watkin brough along a very rare 1981 Aston Martin V8 Volante.
We also spent some time with Cam and Karen of Coventry Woodworks to see the incredible wooden dashboard restoration for our Austin Healey BJ8 project.

It took a considerable amount of effort and time to get our Austin Healey 3000 completely stripped, so we are taking every step to make this a thorough chassis restoration.
So, we loaded it up on a very impressive rotisserie and send it to Todd at Fox Kustoms for media blasting who did a stellar job which was aided by a balanced setup.
With bare metal on our hands time was of the essence, it had to get protected immediately which meant a marathon epoxy prime which took three hours of continuous spray. This is probably the most intense chassis to prime/paint of all the British cars.
Today, sitting in a dark green hue of Valspar 999DTM, the Healey was finally towed by Sean at Sharky’s off to Stickler’s Speed Shop where inner, intermediate and outer sills will be completely replaced as well as a plethora of other work.

Today was the 12th annual Jaguars On The Island 2015 hosted by the Jaguar Car Club of Victoria at the Windsor Park, Oak Bay, Victoria, BC.
This JCNA sanctioned event claims to be the largest of it’s kind in North America!
This year many fantastic cars showed up including a 1934 S.S.1 driven by Woody & Kyoko Wood was driven up from Marina, Washington. This car will be available for sale and you can reach the Wood’s at cwood1234@hotmail.com.
E-Types were popular at this year’s event. They made up the bulk of show with 25 similar cars lined up. Towards the end of our gallery we have the immaculately prepared roadster from Brain Evers which was getting judged just as we arrived.

Today was the annual Father’s Day picnic at Beacon Hill Park organized by Jim Walters of Bristol Motors fame.
There was a special occasion to honor Bill Small and two of his three Triumph TR3s were on display. He was a regular around the shop and will be sorely missed.
Several great new cars were on display including Nick Stepushyn’s Princess 3-Litre Mark II, Dennis from Nanaimo drove down his 1962 E-Type which he has owned for 40 years. Jason and Tina from Jetstream also brought out their 1959 Bugeye which we helped resurrect from deep Cowichan and this highly original car now has a new bright red interior.
Other recently completed cars included Chris Yarrow’s magnificent Austin Healey 100M and Steve Clark Racing’s Aston Martin DBMKIII which has finally been completed by Jetstream Custom Auto and Styles Auto Upholstery.
