Today the annual English Car Affair in the Park at the Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Park, Colwood, BC was held by the The Old English Car Club OECC.
Centered in field was a great display of MGAs surrounded by many of the great cars from the local area.
Interesting debuts included Malcom Mackenzie’s freshly restored Triumph GT6 and Paul Watkin brough along a very rare 1981 Aston Martin V8 Volante.
We also spent some time with Cam and Karen of Coventry Woodworks to see the incredible wooden dashboard restoration for our Austin Healey BJ8 project.

Today was the 12th annual Jaguars On The Island 2015 hosted by the Jaguar Car Club of Victoria at the Windsor Park, Oak Bay, Victoria, BC.
This JCNA sanctioned event claims to be the largest of it’s kind in North America!
This year many fantastic cars showed up including a 1934 S.S.1 driven by Woody & Kyoko Wood was driven up from Marina, Washington. This car will be available for sale and you can reach the Wood’s at cwood1234@hotmail.com.
E-Types were popular at this year’s event. They made up the bulk of show with 25 similar cars lined up. Towards the end of our gallery we have the immaculately prepared roadster from Brain Evers which was getting judged just as we arrived.

Today was the annual Father’s Day picnic at Beacon Hill Park organized by Jim Walters of Bristol Motors fame.
There was a special occasion to honor Bill Small and two of his three Triumph TR3s were on display. He was a regular around the shop and will be sorely missed.
Several great new cars were on display including Nick Stepushyn’s Princess 3-Litre Mark II, Dennis from Nanaimo drove down his 1962 E-Type which he has owned for 40 years. Jason and Tina from Jetstream also brought out their 1959 Bugeye which we helped resurrect from deep Cowichan and this highly original car now has a new bright red interior.
Other recently completed cars included Chris Yarrow’s magnificent Austin Healey 100M and Steve Clark Racing’s Aston Martin DBMKIII which has finally been completed by Jetstream Custom Auto and Styles Auto Upholstery.

Colin Fitzgerald always brings out the best cars to Van Dusen and this year he showed the first production MG T-series car, a 1936 MG TA. This very car paved the way for the famous MG TA, MG TB, MG TC, MG TD and MG TF line of cars.
That means this is the first MG sportscar made after Morris took control of the marque and demanded a cheaper alternative to the expensive racing cars of MG’s earlier history. This also makes it the first MG to have a pushrod engine, hydraulic brakes and hydraulic dampers.
Unique to this car are 15-louvre hood panels, a different door shape, longer rear fenders and an early PB-Type dashboard. The chassis is number 251 which was the MG factories phone number at the time.

Called the “The Greatest Show On British Wheels” the All British Field Meet (ABFM) at the VanDusen Botanical Gardens is the crown jewel in BC’s classic car calendar.
Featured marques this year included Sixty years of MGA with over 60 examples on the field and TVR which filled the center-section of the Great Field.
We fell in love with Chris Yarrow’s freshly restored Austin Healey 100M restored by Rudi & Company and Colin Fizgerald’s 1936 MG TA which is serial number 1 of the MG TA midget series.
