MGTF: Test Fit 1

With many of the pieces now in primer, we are test fitting the major components with the new Hutson body tub. Hutson does not supply the firewall, so we had the peice carefully blasted and subsequently painted in white epoxy primer.

So far the fit looks spot on, but we have to assemble the radiator and hood to finalize the build.

Included is a shot of the chassis which reads TF5013. The car will be returned to its original color of Birch Grey with red interior.

1969 Jaguar E-Type FHC: Teardown

We just started assisting a client with this gorgeous 1969 S2 FHC.

Having never been disassembled or crashed, this is an ideal candidate to restore. The entire car retains its original fit and finishes throughout except for some new seat covers.

This is the first year of the Series II E-type which adopted a completely different light scheme and the Federal Stromberg carburetors as well as detail differences throughout.

More to come!

TR6 Complete: Part III

Finally we can present the entire Pimento Red TR6 painted in Dupont’s Imron Polyurethane Enamel that has a completely durable and classic look.

Featured are Vredestein’s popular Sprint Classic tires, Wheels powder coated by Professional Components Ltd, correct lenses from The Roadster Factory, an Everflex Softtop by Robbins, bumpers by Victoria Plating Ltd and a windsheild + install by Capital Glass just down the road.

MGTF: Body has landed

The British Motor Industry is quite well and alive. We have a brand new MG TF body to prove it.

Recently the Hutson Motor Company Limited sent us a nice gift in the mail and it will get our MG TF restoration up off the ground.

Huston have been making these ash-framed beauties since 1988 and I love M.A.Hutson’s philosophy: “We have never sought to compete on price with any of our products, a correctly manufactured component that fits without modification and works correctly will, from our experience in vehicle manufacture cost less by the time it is on the car than one that has been turned out to a budget.

Here is an incredible video of the build process:

TR6 Complete: Part II

We now move on the completed interior of our 1973 TR6.

Here we have a completely original dashboard with untouched wood, center console, crash pad, center switch pad. Continuing around the interior space, this TR6 still retains its original seat upholstery, original door panels and coverings for the rear panel.

New to the car is the carpet, speaker panels, everflex softtop by Robbins and webbing kit.

For the steering wheel, we sourced an original thin-wall wheel from a 1970-1972 car. This was sent to RX in Vancouver and recovered by the talented Marlene Falk Skowronski of Marlene’s Custom Creations. More about her great service to come!
